Preparing for Hospitalization
Whether preparing for an outpatient procedure, surgery, or hospitalization, Southern California Hospital at Culver City provides helpful guidance to make your experience as smooth as possible. Admissions representatives are available at (310) 836-7000 ext. 1116.
Pre-Admission Guidelines
Please follow these important guidelines before your arrival:
- Observe fasting instructions if directed β surgical procedures may be cancelled if instructions are not followed
- Do not wear jewelry or body piercings
- Leave valuables and money at home β the hospital is not responsible for lost or stolen phones, laptops, or personal items
- Notify your surgeon immediately if you develop a cold, cough, or fever before your procedure
- Bring a current list of your medications and disclose any allergies to your care team
- Pack personal items such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, and shaving supplies
Patient Support During Your Stay
Our staff will check on your needs regularly. If you have special requests or concerns, you may:
- Contact your nursing staff directly
- Ask to speak with the nursing supervisor
- Contact Patient Ambassadors at (310) 836-7000 ext. 1234
- After hours, request the administrator on call

Six paid parking lots are available near the hospital:

- Hospital ER Valet Parking Lot (Hughes Ave. entrance)
- Chase Bank β corner of Hughes Ave. and Delmas Terrace
- Culver Medical Plaza β 3831 Hughes Ave.

Patient Experience
Following your discharge, you may be contacted for a third-party patient satisfaction survey. We encourage your participation as your feedback helps us continually improve our care. Patient Ambassador assistance is available at (310) 836-7000 ext. 1234. A nursing supervisor is available around the clock.
Advance Directive
An Advance Directive is a written statement documenting your medical treatment preferences. It ensures your wishes are honored if you are unable to communicate them. It typically includes a Declaration and a Durable Power of Attorney for Healthcare. Ask your care team for a copy of the Probate Code Advanced Health Care Directive Form.
Billing
You have the right to understand the billing process and to receive financial counseling assistance. For billing questions, contact (310) 836-7000 ext. 3100.
Please note: you may receive multiple statements for a single service date. This is due to federal and state regulations that require costs to be separated by providers, staff, and supplies.
